#Name error appears when excel file is opened by other user

Hello everyone,

I uploaded an excel report on Sharepoint which could be viewed and edited by multi-users (when they check out the file).

One of my colleague has issue with one of the worksheet only show "#Name" on cells as shown on the screenshot.
However, the rest of us not having any of this issue. So, I am not quite sure why it does not work in his computer.
Do you know what could cause this problem?

thanks in advance the workbook is now attached

Perhaps they have a much older version of excel that is not recognizing your formula?
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools

Thank you for your input. I'm not sure about that, I will have to double check with him.

I wonder if they only open the file in browser (instead of opening in the excel app) might cause the formula not working.

Does the file use macros?

Yes, it has macros. But the macros does not relate to this worksheet, the code is basically to pop out a message reminder when the user close/exit the excel file.

Do you think the macro might impact this worksheet?

Cheers

I would only except the #NAME to be macro related if you were using UDF(User Defined Functions).

Without the workbook we can only make suggestions

Okay, I have attached the workbook now.
I'm not familiar with UDF, but let me know if that is the problem. Thanks Andy

I just confirmed with him and his version is same with all of ours.
So not sure why only him that has this issue.

The formula uses FILTER. I would double check you have the same version, including the update version.

use File > Account > About Excel. To get version build

You are right and his version build is not updated. Thanks Andy
