    Conditional Formatting Mirror Cell Colour

I have a range of cells with dates in and then a conditional format to change the colour if criteria is met.

I then have a another group of cells that pulls through the text data from the matching rows for above. So I know I cannot use the same conditional formatting as one cell is dates and the other is correspondent data in text.

So question is if the first group of cells turn blue, say. I want the second group of cells to change to the same colour.

Is there a simple way of just mirroring cells colour?

Re: Conditional Formatting Mirror Cell Colour

The simplest way to mirror conditional formatting (CF) is to apply CF to the second set of cells which refers to the original CF rule.
For example, if you have B2 turning blue if it is less than Today(), then you could have B12 turn blue as well by using the rule =B2 < TODAY().

If that doesn't make sense, then please attach a sample file so we can work with some actual data. We just need a small sample, with enough data to show what you're working with. Include the results you want to see, inserted manually as necessary - put in notes if you think they're needed. Lastly, make sure you don't include any confidential information.
To attach a file, click 'Go Advanced' below the reply box then scroll down to 'Manage Attachments'.

If your problem is solved, please go to 'Thread Tools' above your first post and 'Mark this Thread as Solved'.
If you use commas as your decimal separator (1,23 instead of 1.23) then please replace commas with semi-colons in your formulae.

Re: Conditional Formatting Mirror Cell Colour

Hello, I went looking to find a solution to a similar problem, and will resurrect this thread because it is basically the same thing, albeit a bit more specific.

If you have a number formatted cell with CF (say using a 3-colour scale based on the cell), how can you have this same formatting dynamically apply to another cell that is instead text formatted?
