Formula required for list creation within worksheet

    Hi,

I am trying to integrate the attached style file into a larger workbook. This worksheet would populate a list of components against each selection I make. I have tried multiple formulas using match and indexing but can't seem to make them work!! essentially the part of the sheet is used to generate component parts from product selection to create a shopping list and also a unique list to apply rates too. If I can get this bit working I'm fine with the rest.

I have created a sheet free from formula with the view of the following:

Ideally, I would like to be able to add new selections and the parts that come with them to the "data" tab
The ideal display is how I would want the sheet to appear in my master file.
finally, I would like to be able to generate a unique list on the "list" tab. This would list all parts shown on the "ideal display" tab without duplicates.

    please can you help me!

I think the following is what you want.

First I played with your data: I "normalized" it by repeating the Selections on each row in column A. Then I converted it into an Excel Table. Select any single cell in the data range, then select Home > Format as Table and follow the prompts.

Then I created a couple of pivot tables as shown on the pivot table sheet. I added a slicer. Select any cell in the pivot table and then select Insert > Slicer and follow the prompts again.

The next step is to hook up the slicer so it controls both pivot tables. Select the slicer. Click on the Slicer ribbon. Select Report Connections - this will give you a list of all pivot tables that are built from the same data source. Check the boxes for the pivot tables that you want to associate with this slicer. So make sure both boxes are checked. Now when you select an item or items in the slicer, it will update both pivot tables.

One spreadsheet to rule them all. One spreadsheet to find them. One spreadsheet to bring them all and at corporate, bind them.

A picture is worth a thousand words, but a sample spreadsheet is more likely to be worked on.
