I'm afraid we cannot reproduce your situation. Without a sample workbook to see the behavior is quite impossible to help. A picture is not enough.Originally Posted by KudlaKudla

Is it formula bar?
Point the mouse into the bottom edge untill 2-D arrow appear, hold the left button then drag.

I'm afraid that is no problem with your workbook. This behavior can be generated by one of add-ins that you are using in Excel.
It's not the formula bar... the pic shows that clearly enough.
Your sample file is OK for me. So yes... it may be an add-in...
Where do I see all the add in's so that I can disable them?
File | Options | Add-Ins ...

Yes, You got it, awesome. I am using 2 monitors and a desktop extended. when I dragged the spreadsheet to the primary small monitor "white space" disappeared and plugin visible.
So there is no solution to it ?
Issue resolved by setting the Option "Optimize for compatibility" - Thanks Glenn Kennedy
