How to copy only visible portion of a excel sheet which has freeze panes horizontally

    Dear Experts,

I have an excel sheet with data in Rows 2 to 9 and in Columns from A to H. The data in columns E F G H will keep on expanding in all next successive columns as this is variable data. say for e.g. currently i have data until column AB.

The data in Columns A, B, C & D is standard and the data in Columns E, F, G and H is variable and repetitive as i explained above (month over month).

The Panes are freezed at Column D (cell d3).

Every month i need to copy the data for that respective month (i.e. Column A,B,C & D, followed by the variable data (as i mentioned above). When i try to copy the data (with my window portion showing me the Standard columns and variable column data); it copies the data entirely from columns E onwards, which is not what i want.

I only need the visible portion of the data to be copied. Is this possible? Any guidance is much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Mahesh

Select columns A:D, then hold down the CTRL key and select the other columns you want to copy.

There is no way to say "copy the visible columns." They are all "visible" according to Excel because they are not hidden. You have just scrolled them off the screen. This could be automated with VBA by copying based on whatever the current selected cell is, but I think that is overkill for something that be done very easily manually.

Thanks 6StringJazzer, Holding down the CTRL key while selection was just what i needed to understand and i feel so embarrassed that i couldn't. Anyways, thanks again.

The other way which i succeeded was:
    - Copy & paste the standard columns just below (as a template)
    - Copy & paste the required selection (adjacent to the above standard columns)

    Regards,
    Mahesh
