Pivot Table Appending an unnecessary '2' to a list of names

I have a very simple list of names, only 17 entries long, and among that list is the name Etienne. When I tried to make a pivot table to list these names in another sheet (to help with functions in some cells), every name appears just fine, except Etienne, who appears as Etienne2. Any misspelling of the name will make it appear just fine in the pivot table (spelling error and all), but any entry of the name Etienne messes it up. I even tried using the name Etienne2 in the list, and the pivot table gave me Etienne22, which isn't very relevant to anything, but kind of annoying.

Why is the pivot table appending a number to the end of this name, and how can I fix this? (there are no duplicate names, so my easiest theory is unfortunately shot)
