This is an issue I've nearly always had with Excel. A few months ago the comments (now called notes) suddenly started behaving and I was so happy it was finally 'fixed'. Then I got the dreaded object move error where I had to click OK about a thousand times before I was allowed to continue working on my spreadsheet. I have now removed most of them but I do actually need them on a daily basis so cannot manage entirely without. No matter what setting I choose they always resize, usually to just a flat line, and shoot all the way up or down the spreadsheet. I've tried all 3 available formatting options. They do not work! It's driving me crazy. I only finish typing some info and save and the next time I hover over the Note it's shrunk and moved. It just doesn't do what it should and is worse than it's ever been. Comments/Notes have always been bad but for reasons I won't go into, I have to use them!
I used to have one per row on a spreadsheet of over 3,000 rows. Now I've deleted all those that are no longer current (something I'm not happy with because I do need to refer back to them occasionally) and only have about 80 in total. Please can someone advise me how to fix this once and for all? I don't understand why if you select 'Don't Move or Size with Cells', it totally ignores that and does what it wants.
Please don't advise me not to use them. Currently I can't find any alternative (unless some guru out there can recommend an outstanding relational database that is fully customisable and also a company that can build it for me lol).
I use Office 365 & Windows 10. If I need to go into what I use the spreadsheet for, happy to oblige, but I think it will just bore the socks off everyone. Thank you for any help.
