Protecting Formulae Without Password Protection of opening the Workbook

    Dear all,

I have a very simple spreadsheet which has cells that are formatted as protected to stop other from overwriting formulas, i have gone to protect worksheet on the tabs required and saved it.

This issue i have is that when someone tries to just open the workbook it asks for a password. I would like to allow anyone to open it without asking for a password whilst keeping the protected cells.

I hope you can help. Thanks in advance.

If you dont password protect the file, anyone with a bit of excel knowledge can mess with your formulas
    1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

    Hi,

Not sure I understand. Worksheet protection alone has nothing to do with the user being required to enter a password upon opening the file.
