    Administrative Note:

We would very much like to help you with your query, however the thread title does not really convey what your request is about. Tell us what you are trying to do, not how you think it should be done.

Please take a moment to amend your thread title. Make sure that the title properly explains your request. Your title should be explicit and not be generic (this includes function names used without an indication of what you are trying to achieve).

Please see Forum Rule #1 about proper thread titles and adjust accordingly. To edit the thread title, open the original post to edit and then click on Go Advanced (bottom right) to access the area where you can edit your title.

(Note: this change is not optional. No help to be offered until this moderation request has been fulfilled.)

Your amended title isn't much better, to be honest. But you've made the effort. I'll change it to something acceptable... but at the moment I can't because I can't see all of your data. There is NO WAY that I am going to start retyping all the stuff that you already have, right in front of you.

A picture is worth 1,000 words. An Excel sheet is worth 1,000 non-editable pictures.

Please read the yellow banner about sample worksheets, at the top of the screen. Act on its guidelines and post a SMALL sample sheet complete with an explanation and some expected results.

I SPECIFICALLY asked for an Excel sheet. I am NOT going to do anything with a non-editable picture of one.

Re: Index match error, data is giving me error

    Yes, you can.

A good sample workbook has just 10-20 rows of representative data that has been desensitised. It also has expected results mocked up, worked examples where required, relevant cells highlighted and a few explanatory notes.

If you want us to make an effort to help you, then you need to make an effort to provide us with accessible data that we can work with.

Can't see the formula you want us to look at - the INDEX MATCH. I can see two SUMIFS. I cannot see any manually mocked up expected results or any explanatory notes.

I am really sorry - I still don't know what you are expecting the answer to be.

I have to go for a while - I'll check back later on.

Re: Index match error, data is giving me error

I did not look at your second sample sheet. The first contained 2 events, neither of which were in 2021 and neither of which were listed in sheet 1.

In future, think a bit more about your title and your sample sheet. We are not mind-readers.

    =IFERROR(INDEX(Data!$N$3:$N$10,MATCH(1,INDEX((Data!$B$3:$B$10=Sheet1!G7)*(Data!$A$3:$A$10=Sheet1!$H$4),0),0)),"")

    copied down.

Re: Index Match with multiple criteria

I have also changed your title that you would use as a google search term... that's what a good title should look like.
