    Re-using a saved filter

    Good morning

I have a large spreadsheet, about 30MB and a bazillion cells.

Again and again I am applying the same filters.

Is there a way to save a filter so that I can just do a few clicks and can re-use the filter ?

    Thanks

    Duncan

    Added some time later . . .

I am talking about these filters:
    \1
    \1
    \1

Sorry, the images do not show up, you can click the image-links below if you want:

I am only interested in the text filters.

    Hi AVK

I am not sure what you are asking.

Will include some images in my first post. Perhaps that will explain it a bit better,

    Re: Re-using a saved filter

Hi and welcome to the forum

Pictures are of little value. Honestly, no one wants to re-type your data to try and solve your issue. Additionally, we would only be guessing at how your data was structured, ie. formulas, formatting, etc. Additionally, due to how some browsers behave, many of our members cannot see uploaded pictures/images. Please do not take this route.

Please attach a sample file that represents what you have. The structure of your attachment should be the same structure as your actual data. Any proprietary information should be changed.

Include in the attachment any code you're currently using (whether it works or not) and an "After" of what you wish the output to be.

To attach a file to your post,
click advanced (next to quick post),
scroll down until you see "manage file",
click that and select "add files" (top right corner).
click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.

    Hi Alansidman,

I am not sure what help an actual spreadsheet will be, but I followed your advice and attached one.

Anyone ? Is it possible to reuse a filter, or do I need to set it each time over again ?

    @Duncan

While you have given us a file, you have not given us much to work on. What filters do you wish to save. Is the file you presented representative of your actual file. We need more information if you wish for help. We are experts people and not mind readers. Provide us with more detail on what you expect your results to look like. I don't know what you want. Help us to help you.

Any that I wish. Until now I am still in the dark if it is even possible to save a filter to be used later.

No, my actual file has millions of cells and is over 30MB

Just let me know what info you need.

I am hoping after setting any filter, using the standard excel tools, I can save this setting. So set another filter, and then if needed go back to the saved setting.

Of course I can save the spreadsheet under a different name, but that is not what I am after. My goal is to have a few dozen of preset filter that I can select when I need it.

I don't know what you want. Help us to help you.
I would like to re-use a saved filter. If that possible ?

    Re: Re-using a saved filter

I watched a few tutorials. Too bad the suggested CustomViews can not be used when the data is in tables.
