Welcome to the forum.
What does this mean in practice?
Excel will not understand the term 'adequate' - it will need rules.Employees have adequate amount of off time between shifts.
Define 'part time' for Excel.Currently 12 employees with one being part time.

Another question: on which day does this shift start?

Thanks.
You need to decide on PRECISE rules (if this, then that, or if that, then the other, etc.), as Excel needs it spelling out. Anything even slightly vague cannot be programmed, as Excel has no AI. Your descriptions at the moment are both open to interpretation.
I suspect this will require VBA - are you OK with that?
Finally, there is no Excel version 2023: please update your profile to the version you have (Excel 2019, Excel 2021 or Excel 365).
Thank you.

Also, two days off during the week for each employee. (The exception with part time). I'm new to VBA.
OK - I am going to modify the title to flag this to VBA experts as well. It's above my pay grade, though, so good luck!
No problem! I appreciate your time. Don't want to force anyone to a difficult task but I'm thankful for the community volunteering!
It is a tricky one, but someone may have an idea. Bear in mind contributors are all over the world, so give it at least 24 hours!
