Count employees working at a given time of day

    Hello,

On the attached file, I am looking to count the number of employees who are working at a given time of the day.

Worksheet "Flow" has the hours of the day for each day Fri-Thu.

Worksheet "Schedule" I formatted the employees work times.

Is there a way to calculate how many employees are working at that given time?

    I appreciate any help.

    Thank you,

If someone is working 11 AM - 9 PM, are they counted as working at 9 PM?

The strategy is to use COUNTIFS to determine how many times the time on Flow falls between start & end times for each day.

Also don't use merged cells. I have eliminated merged cells and you'll notice that your worksheet looks exactly the same.

    Thanks 6StringJazzer,

That's a good question, if they are working 11a - 9pm, they would not be counted for 9pm.

Looking at your example, I see an error, on the first instance, Fri 6am. Two cells fall into this time C9 & E16. It looks like it is not counting the 9 pm - 7 am.

I didn't notice that some shifts cross midnight. That makes things quite a bit more complicated. I'll look at that.
