    Excel cursor movement tracking

I've had to reinstall Office and it's been so long since I last configured things I've forgotten most of it. One of the default settings causes the active cell border to show how it's moving from one cell to another when you select a new cell. I positively hate that and can't even remember what it's called, so how do I turn that off.

    It's called animation.
Turns out it's a Windows setting located in Settings>Accessibility>Visual Effects>Animation Effects. You want to turn this off (if you're like me).
