    Stop scrolling and selecting

Actually I'm not sure my title appropriately describes it. In the workbook attached, I would like the controls in the center of the page to always stay in the center of the page. I thought first of Freeze Panes below, but that creates a visible line, which I don't want. So I thought, maybe I could turn off scrolling for this workbook? Also, the OT Hours value has a formula. I want to protect that formula, but I also want my users to be able to copy the value. But enabling that allows my users to select any cell, which puts a border on that cell, which on the white background looks tacky. So I don't really want them to be able to select any other cell.

Any bright ideas? I also don't want to do anything through macros, because my users don't have the capability to run macros. I don't mind a macro before hand, to set something up, but I don't want any macros in the workbook.

Not really sure if this helps. The grey colour is yuk but hey it works.

I appreciate the try, and agree on the Yuk. I'll keep fooling with it.

AliG, I appreciate the enthusiasm, but this thread is entirely about the visual aspect, so formula doesn't figure in at all. But if anyone wants it, the formula used in the workbook is

Pretty sure we've had this conversation before, but there should be EITHER a forumula OR a clear explanation of what has been done in the workbook so that anyone who cannot open the workbook will be able to follow the thread.

This is about accessibility for all.

Gotcha, my bad for not painting a better visual picture. Just didn't want to include 1000 words ("a picture is worth....").

The setup is one sheet, which has a heading ("Overtime Hours Calculator")
There are two non-working buttons side by side just to hold captions.
Below these buttons are two boxes, one to put in the total hours worked, the second containing my formula to figure OT hours earned.

All I want is for all my stuff to stay in the middle of the page, not move.

The message wasn't for you - it was addressed to your helper.

    Ali G,
My helper didn't provide a formula, so he shouldn't be help responsible for posting that formula. Even though you addressed him it was my bad, not his.

To be very clear: my post #4 was addressing your helper's post #3 for the reasons that I have clarified in post #6.

    I'm sorry for the misunderstanding.

Ah, so not so much the formula, but a better explanation of "what has been done". Gotcha!

    My express apologies!

Clear explanation of the steps taken

    1. Used the inbuilt split screen function. View > Window Group > Split
    2. Position the split approximately column E and row 11, E11 intersection.
    3. Used the inbuilt freeze pane function. View > Window Group > Freeze Pane
    4. Select All cells(ctrl+A) Change the fill colour to a grey colour, HEX#9B9B9B(RGB:155,155,155).

EDIT: to include the HEX/RGB colour, correct position of the split screen.
