How do I count dates that have time stamps?

I have a column of dates that have time stamps.
Example: 12/27/2023 1:33:54 PM

What I'd like to do is use a countif statement to get the count of specific calendar dates in that column. Each time I try, though, I get back "0" presumably because the time stamp is stopping the countif from working.

How do I get around this?

Example, I want a formula that reviews the data set below for 12/12/2023 and get back a result of "2" because there are two instances of 12/12/2023. Or "1" if I search for 12/26/2023. How do I do that?
