Exclamation Saving data to certain dates

Hello, i have created a daily sheet with a calendar that once you click on it, it shows different days. Unfortunately, the information i put into one date stays in the same spot after i have selected a different date. Could someone please help with this. Thank you.

    Welcome to the Forum Callum1051!

What you are describing is very specific to the file you are using. Did you use a template or did you develop this yourself from scratch?

It is quite impossible for us to answer this question just from looking at a picture of what your sheet looks like. Please see the yellow banner at the top of the page, and attach your Excel file. If it is over 1MB you will have to zip it.

Re: Saving data to certain dates

    Hey Jeff,
i have attached it on the right next to the picture (blue link).

I am trying to get the dates to keep the same writing i put down for them and save them, but it takes the previous dates wirting to the next and cancel it out. I just need any template that is similar to this (if one has been made). Quite new to excel and trying to learn it. I used some of the coding from a template and have done some modifications.

    Thank you!

The template you started with (based on the link in the worksheet) is intended to be used to set up a daily planner sheet to be printed for each day. It is not designed to be able to type in data and have it saved for each day. To do that, you will need to design in another worksheet that acts as a database. When you enter data for a day, it must be saved in the database, and when you select a different day, the data must be loaded from the database. All of this requires VBA macros. The only non-VBA alternative is to have a different worksheet (tab) for every day.

I know how to do this but honestly it would be a heap of work, too much for me to do for free.

The easiest thing for you to do would be to find a template that already has what you need. It's a pretty universal need so I would expect there are some options out there.

I use an actual calendar tool to do this rather than Excel; I have used Outlook for decades and Google Calendar for a few years. They have much more comprehensive features than what you can readily build from scratch in Excel.

I’m looking more for an in-depth daily diary rather than a month spreadsheet. I have looked on the internet for some and just nothing quite like what i am after. If you have some that are quite similar would love to see them if your open to sharing them!. Thank you

How much would it cost for this to get done?

One possibility is to post it to our Commercial Services area. You prepay for points, 1 point = 1 USD. If someone solves it, they get 75% and the other 25% goes to the forum as a commission. I think 40 points would be a reasonable offer.

There are lots of other services out there for freelancers to do things like this.
