Please Help Me Increment Numbers in My Cells

I want to progressively add one more number to the last cell. +1, +2, +3, +4, +5, +6, etc. The results in column A should look like this
    1
    2
    4
    7
    11
    16
    22

what formula can I use to make this happen?

    Thanks!

Put the number 1 in the first cell (assume this is A1). Then you can use this formula in cell A2:

    =ROWS($1:1)+A1

and copy it down as far as you like.

    Hope this helps.
