Drop down list with number and letters causing #Valu result in total

    Hi,

I am calculating the data entered in a month. Data being entered is by drop down list with an option to calculate the numbers and codes.

I need to total the numbers on weekdays, weekends and holiday (SUMIF), but also another category to COUNTIF the number of codes chosen to enter in the month.

It is calculating the numbers (1 and 0.5) for weekdays, weekends and holidays, but once another category is chosen then the weekend or weekday is replaced by #Value error.

I don't know how to correct this error.

    Any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much in advance.

    Please see attached WB sample.

    Hi samba_ravi,

Thank you for checking on this. Appreciate it and it works.

But on the same sample work book, when I changed the month to December where holidays falls on 25 and 26 (Dec 25 and Dec 26 both falls on weekdays in year 2024), the weekend column is resulting a negative if one of them is filled, where it suppose to show zero.

    Any suggestion please?

    Thank you.

    Hi everyone,

Any suggestions please? I'm really stuck with the formula when the date falls on December 25 and December 26 of the year or of any year, it returns with negative answer in column Weekend.

But using the same formula on other holiday range is working perfectly fine.

    Your help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    hii
I am glad to help you .your problem To resolve the #Value error in your Excel sheet, ensure that your are formulas can handle both numeric and non-numeric inputs are correctly. Utilize a functions like a IFERROR or a ISNUMBER to the manage potential an errors a gracefully. Validate that a your drop-down list are entries for weekdays, weekends, holidays, and codes are the formatted consistently. Adjust to your a SUMIF and COUNTIF formulas to the treat a codes are separately from a numerical entries. Incorporate IFERROR within your the SUMIF formula for a weekdays, weekends, and holidays to handle any potential errors.there are many error. Similarly, ensure your COUNTIF formula for codes counts only valid entries without causing errors. By reviewing and adjusting your formulas accordingly, you can a eliminate the #Value errors and accurately calculate your totals.
