    External reference problems

    Please help

I have put external links into my worksheet but I find that if I insert a row into my external reference worksheet that the formulas do not update and my figures are all wrong. Is there anything I can do to stop this?

Have both workbooks open before you insert the row in the external workbook. The formulas in the other one should update automatically.

If you attach a sample of your workbook it will be easier to find a solution. Remember to remove/replace sensitive data before uploading the file. Look here if you need help with attachments:

Give the cells in your external sheets a name.

"rngTeller" & "rngNoemer" are two cell names in you external sheet
Formula in main sheet to divide both cells is ='C:\Slave1.xls'!rngTeller/'C:\Slave1.xls'!rngNoemer
