    Count by month

I have a spreadsheet where the dates (and other data) are added (04/23/08, 05/24/08, etc. in one column) to indicate when a public housing unit has been made available. I need to count in the date column how many units have been added per month (e.g., in the month of May). In other words, I have a number of dates I need to automatically count to determine how may are entered for each month of a given year.

Does any one have a formula that could help me count these monthly subsets? I need to differentiate by month.

, where A1:A10 holds the dates, B1:B10 holds the units added, and 5 is for May (since it is the fifth month).

Hi This is good for one year of dates.
See if iit works with your Country setting for dates. It works in "GB".
If its any good, it could be modified for Years as well.
