    Pivot Table Problem

Hi im new to excel in general but have been some complex questions. One of the questions is as follows:

'You own a fast food restaurant and have done some market research in an attempt to better undertsand your customers. For a random sample of customers, you are given the income, gender, and number of days per week that they go out for fast food.

Use this information to determine how gender and income influence the frequency with which a person goes out for fast.'

I am supposed to use pivot tables to find trends in the data i have been given which is as follows:

    Gender Frequency Income
    Man 4 30
    Man 4 58
    Man 6 48
    Woman 6 58
    Woman 5 53
    Man 3 49

and so on. I know how to make pivot tables but im having difficulty arranging the data in the pivot table to answer the actual question including an average frequency and using the values in the right way, eg 'sum of' or 'count of' or '%of' and so on. The sheer number of options is confusing me.

Any help would be appreciated but of course, i dont expect anyone to do my work for me, i just need a general direction!

    thanks
    kyle
