update formula chain when inserting rows

    hi
is there a way which my formula chains can be updated when inserting rows? i.e. the calculating formulas that run down my columns, are broken when a new row is inserted, that is, the new row is completely blank instead of having the formulas copied in?!
    vague i know, sorry!

    thanks for any help?

Why not copy the rows and insert them?

The alternative is to select the used cells in the last filled row and double click the anchor in the corner. (little black square box)

If you have Excel 2003 or 2007, you can use the List Feature (in 2003) or Table feature (in 2007)...

These will convert your data into a self contained table... and when you add a row, the formulas will automatically copy down.

    Here are some instructions...

    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...33.aspx#Tables
Where there is a will there are many ways.

It seems like you are correct... once you protect the formulas in the list, the List feature doesn't work anymore (i.e. can't add rows)...
