    Purchase Order Customer Info Autopopulated

Using Excel 2003 and would consider myself an intermediate beginner. I have a Purchase Order template that I created in Excel and an Excel Customer spreadsheet. I am trying to get the Customer Name, Address, City/State/Zip (all found in different columns on the customer spreadsheet) to autopopulate on the Purchase Order when the matching phone number is entered. New to advanced formulas but looking for something like: if the phone number on the purchase order equals the phone number on the customer database, bring over the Customer info above to the appropriate cells on the purchase order. Any suggestions on getting this to work would be appreciated.

If you have tried all the lookup functions and can not fix it, please attach a sample.
I need your support to add reputations if my solution works.

G'day lj123 and welcome to the forum,

Depending on the layout of your information the Vlookup could be useful

Post Purchase Order Customer Info Autopopulated Help Needed

Attached is an Excel 2003 workbook with 2 tabs. First tab is the Customer data list and the second tab is the Purchase Order template. This is just a sample of the layout of the Customer Data List since the full doc is much larger. Row one is needed in the customer data list for generating the invoice numbers. I have included a couple vlookups to show what I am looking to do. I can't figure out why the formulas themselves are being populated in the cells rather than the result of the formula. Ultimately what I need to do is have vlookups in the Name, Address, City, State, and Zip cells on the Purchase Order that say, if cell C9 on the purchase order is found any where in column A on the Customer Data list, bring back the result in column 5 for Name, 6 for Address, 7 for City, 8 for State, and 9 for Zip Code.

It was working at one point if I had the false portion of the If statement actually be False. What I would really like though is the false portion of the If Statement to be blank. So if you find a match populate with the results otherwise leave the cells blank. On the Purchase Order for Name and Address, column C shows the formulas that I had with using False and column G has the formulas that I had using blank or "".

This is probably an easy fix, just can't figure it out.

    G'day LJ,

The problem with the formula that the format of the cells is in 'Text' mode.
Change the format to 'General' then click into the formula bar then press enter to return the formula value.

As for the blank return. Place this example in 'Purchase Order'C6
