Question Update spreadsheet as it's being viewed by others?

As a follow up to my previous question:

If I have 5 users with a shared workbook open, and user 1 makes a change, can that change be instantly pushed down to the other 4 users?

By having a save event on worksheet change, there shouldn't be too many instances of people updating the same rows, but I'd like to tighten that up a bit. Basically, all I'm trying to do is have a status change made by user 1 visible to the other users so they go to the next workitem in the spreadsheet

Do any of you know if it's possible?

FYI, we're all using the 2007 version and the file will be saved to a mutually accessable network repository.

nope as they need to save their version to see update
you need to web share it with something like

Re: Update spreadsheet as it's being viewed by others?

I came up with an idea, but it's not quite working (it works fine for me across my two PC's, but not for others on the network yet).
In order to change the status, the user has to doubleclick on the cell they wish to change. This pops up a form with radio buttons for each status. Above the radio button, the "current status" is displayed.

When the pop up is activated, the workbook saves... so, anybody wishing to make a change will actually be saving the workbook first.

But, this works for me across my two pc's, but not across the network for other users. I have NO Idea why that would be! Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated!

[NO LONGER NEEDED] Re: Update spreadsheet as it's being viewed by others?

Sorry, completely lost sight of this - apologies to martindwilson! Other users do have macros enabled.
Anyway, I'm going to close this item out as I ended up going with MS Access and using a split db approach.
