Selecting multiple data to copy throughout worksheet

    Hello,

I think this is quite a tricky one but not for the whizzes amongst you.

I would like to create a spreadsheet where I enter a list of 30 – 40 names and associated data over 4 separate columns. I would like the option of having a check box next to each name so when checked, it copies that name and associated data in to a section below. This will give me a reduced list of names (lets say 20). From this section I would like the same again to reduce further and once more after that.

I’m not even sure if this is possible but if it is I would be extremely grateful for your help.

    Many thanks

    Hi Wher,

That's exactly it. That's great. I won't pretend to understand it but now I have the formulas I can create exactly what I'm after.

I might be pushing my luck now but is there a way to use a mouse click / check box to select the data instead of entering x?

I am extremely grateful for your help.

    Thanks - Colin

    Something like this?

    Copy of Checkmark(1).xls

    (I changed x to TRUE/FALSE)

That's great but is there anyway I could have just the check box and not the text?

    Thanks

You can hide that column. Checkbox will stay out and put text in it but you won't see it.

I like it :-) Can you give me instructions on how you insert the true/false check boxes?

    Thanks - Colin

Just copy-paste them and put in cell where you want them (then right click and in properties change cell where they referenced to. that means you can place them anywhere and tell them whic cell to make true/false)
