how do i make a cell consistent in a column of calculations

I am wondering how to keep a cell number consistent in a column of calculations. i.e.

    i would like to have

    A1/C14
    A2/C14
    A3/C14

Any solutions short of me just typing out the equation repeatedly?
I think it has something to do with the $ sign, but am not sure.
    Thanks in advance

Hitting the F4 key is only really useful if you understand the significance of each option...

I would suggest first reading XL Help Files regards Relative / Absolute & Mixed References.

    $A1/$C$14

If you wish to copy to right and have A1 become B1 but C14 remain fixed then:

    A1/$C$14
