    Cross-sectional Chart

    Hey guys,
I have a bunch of x,y points that correspond to position (x) and depth below ground (y). For each point, I also have a resistivity value (z). I am trying to graph this data so that the graph shows a cross-section of the earth and the corresponding resistivity values. Ideally they should be all linked for equivalent values, or at contour points. This profile shows a hidden valley below the surface of the earth, but am having trouble getting excel to co-operate in keeping my x, y, data straight. Think of this as a type of gradient map as you would see with a topological map that shows elevation.

Is excel able to handle this type of chart?

    Thanks,
