increase drop down list visible entries?

i''m running excel 03. the drop-down list only shows 8 entries at a time. my drop-down list references data that i pull from a website. the web query pulls data which fills 30 rows, so i'd like the drop-down list to show all 30 items. a search of the forum gave me this: http://www.excelforum.com/excel-gene...alidation.html. in that thread, it points to this page: www.contextures.com/xlDataVal10.html

1. is the method shown on the contextures page the only way to increase the length of the drop-down list? or is there a much simpler way, one that preferably doesnt require so many steps? does excel '07 or excel '10 support longer drop-down lists?

2. will the contextures workaround work for my situation (i.e. drop-down list referencing data from an excel web query)?

Surely you can just use the Scroll Bar to work down the list

i can. it's not a deal-breaker, but i'd prefer to see the entire list without having to scroll.

is there another way other than the contextures workaround?

I think scrolling down is a better option than viewing 30 lines at once. I would think locating the required item is easier viewing 8 line rather than 30
