    MS Excel 2007 scatter plots

I wonder if a MS Excel Guru can help me:
I have 3 columns and about 1200 lines. The 1st column displays the series name, 2nd and 3rd the X and Y value. When I select the data series, and try to insert a scatter plot, Excel displays 2 values for each series.

Ideally, I would like it to take the X and Y value and where it overlaps, make ONE value for that series. And if possible, display the series name for each individual point

Anyone has any idea how to overcome this barrier?

what do you mean by Overlap?

You have too much data in order to have a unique series name for each point.
Better to create 1 series of xy values and link the data labels to the 1st column of text to be displayed.
