2007 Pivot Table using same field in 2 areas of report

I have attached a very simple example of my pivot table.

There are two sheets one containing the data the other containg the Pivot Table analysis.

I am trying to use the field "Term" as a pivot table filter and also within the row labels of the main table. However it only seems to allow me to have the field as a filter or a row label not both.

I'm positive I could use the same field in both places in Excel 2003 but I can't find out what is stopping me in 2007. I'm sure it is something simple and is probably an error on my part , but it has me confused.

Thanks in anticipation of your help.

You have the ability to filter the Term directly in the table, so you shouldn't need it in the Page area... it is only for the Totals columns...

I just double-checked in 2003 and it is the same thing.
Where there is a will there are many ways.

    NBVC

Thanks for the prompt reply. You are correct I can filter within the table.

I did think you could have the same field as a page field filter and a row label, but I was obviously wrong. I put it down to age and stupidity

Many Thanks I have marked the thread as Solved

Re: 2007 Pivot Table using same field in 2 areas of report

I hope it's okay to add on to this thread, because I have the same issue. I have a field called "Date of Service" that I would like to include in two separate places of a Pivot Table, but it appears that I can only put it in one place. I want to filter by it, so as only to include records from 2011, but I also want to include it as a row label, so that I can see the exact dates of service for each person. I don't know how else to do this, except to create a separate "year" field in the table, which I was hoping to avoid. Thanks for any assistance.
