Smile displaying drop down list/row base on value choosen in another drop down list

    hi all,

I am very new to excel but i need have presentation to do... and i would really appreciate any kind of help from gurus in this forum..

    --------------------
I am doing a troubleshooting ticket template.
I have a main drop down list on Cell A1
    1. General
    2. Billing
    3. Call

    ----------------------

Depending on the options (1,2,3) I choosen, the next row display will show yet another drop down list..

Assuming i choose 2 billing, on the new row on Cell A2 there will be a new dropdown list with

    1. Outstanding Payment
    2. Incorrect charges
    3. Others

If i choose 3, then on the same Cell A2 row, instead of showing the previous dropdown list, the dropdown list would now be

    1. Call cannot Connect
    2. 1 sided voice
    3. No sound

    -----------------------------------------
I do not need an exact step by step solution, but would really hope any kind souls would pinpoint to me where to start with.. or does excel support this capability..

    please please help.

    thanks alot and best wishes

    Noob

    hi martin,
    I got a problem.

    1) I have a MainList (1.Fruits 2.Vegetable).
    2) Under Fruit List, I have (1.Apple 2.Orange)
    3) Under Vegetable List, I have (1.Tomato 2.Spinach)

I have setup data validation and it all look fine.

    Initially
    1) I choose Fruits
    2) Then I choose Apple

    3) After that I went back to 1) and Choose Vegetable

but the display on 2) is still Apple

    4) Not until when i click on 2) then I can choose the list of Tomato and Spinach.
    ---------------------------------------------

How do i prevent value from the old dependant list in (2) from showing when i select a new item in the parent list (1)

    Regards,
    Noob
