    AVERAGEIF function

    Hello,
What I need is to average every cell in column A that each share the same value in Column B. This must be done for each unique value in column B. Therefore have the same number of averages in some new Column as there are unique column B values. I believe I can somehow use the AVERAGEIF function.

Hi thespacemen and welcome to the forum,

My avatar is from space too..

If you had 2007 or newer Excel we could use the AverageIfs function but you don't have the new one. So here is the formula and an attached example.

    Re: AVERAGEIF function

How can I average a range of numbers if they fall between two numbers? Example: Average column A if the numbers fall between 3 and 9. Thanks for anyone's help!
