I use Excel a lot and need to be able to fully utilise Excel 2007 function of 100000 rows and more.
When I now open a new spreadsheet the max number of rows is 65536 which is the old 2003 format and is constantly in Compatibility mode.
I have tried saving as the excel workbook but still 65536 rows. I have even tried saving as .XLSX format and still no joy.
Can anyone help me?

When you save the file as .xlsx, do you select Excel Workbook (*.xlsx) in the Save As Type dropdown?

You need to save it as an XLSX file, then close the file and re-open it for the changes to take effect.Originally Posted by PauloAlao
