Count only if 2 cells are True on a second sheet

Good day all,

Next conundrum...I need to count if two cells have the right criteria on the same row in one sheet & show the result in another, e.g.

COUNTIF(2012!N3:N64000"Manufacturing"&2012!J3:J64000"*Jan*") (the date will show as "24-Jan-12") and returns the result in another sheet, any ideas, thank you, Marco

Can you provide me with the sheet you are working from? If i understand you correctly, you want to check if you have one entry (in the same line) was for manufacturing in january, and return what date that happened to a different sheet? Is the date, in this case 24 jan 12, stored in a column in the sheet named 2012?

Yes basically that's it but I just need the formula to count how many times this happens & return the result to another sheet, I've tried to upload my spreadsheet but it won't let me for some strange reason? Thanks again! Marco
