    Excel 2000 Chart Setup Help

I have bar graphs that copied over from another file. The 3rd and 4th chart listed are how I want it to look. The bars are stretched only to the half way point of the chart window. The right half contains the legend.

When ever I update the source data and change it to make my new file data the bars stretch all the way across the whole chart window. The first and second chart show this.

So every time I update a new chart with new information the charts change from small to big. How do I make all the charts look like chart number 3 and 4 after I update the data?

    Any Ideas?

    Thanks

PS I am using Excell 2000

imo you would be much better off removing the legend altogether and using bar charts with the categories visible on the X axis-the charts would be much easier to read. also all that color is just noise that distracts from the data. attached is a simple variation of the first two charts in your file.

Thank you for your response. I understand that its eaiser to do it this way. These charts were created by antother person and I am suppose to keep them the same.

Do you know how to modify them like I was asking? I mean it has to be possible becuase it was done the first time they were created. I just cant find it for the life of me, I have been through every option I can find.

    Thanks

Try extending your source data down to include a few blank rows

not just easier - better too ;-)

I don't have a copy of 2000 to do any testing on but I can't see why a simple data change would cause charts to resize.
