Good Morning.
I'm new here, and have only dabbled in Excel. Recently I've been tasked with extracting some inventory data from 2 separate worksheets in Excel 2007. We have a spread sheet that shows our pre-physical count inventory, which contains 1095 rows and 9 columns. Column A is the item code, which is our unique identifier for each row. We also have a similar spreadsheet that shows our post-physical count inventory, which only contains 606 rows, and is arranged the same way as the first sheet. Obviously, we eliminated nearly 500 items from our inventory, and now I've been asked to take these two sheets and make a third sheet that lists the items that were removed from inventory. Somehow I need to merge these two sheets, eliminate duplicates, and show what's remaining. That will give us the items that have been removed. As a result, I've learned to use the VLOOKUP function, which I have used to give me a list of duplicate numbers from Column A on both sheets. However, this lacks in two ways:
- I don't need the list of duplicates, I need the list of items that are not on the second sheet that were on the first sheet.
- I need all the corresponding information in the cells to the right of the returned cell value.
I'm sorry if I've been too wordy, but I'd like to provide as much information as possible for anyone who sees fit to help me find an answer.
Thank you!
