Question Return a value based on a list

Hello. I am trying to condense a list (data dump) that has multiple products for the same brand... for example there is an entry that says 1-wire drivers and one that says 1-wire drivers for windows xp and vista. I want to be able to have another cell report just "1-Wire" for both items....

    Soooooo...

    1-Wire Drivers
    SAP
    Microsoft Office
    1-Wire Drivers for Windows

    Would become

    1-Wire Drivers 1-Wire
    SAP
    Microsoft Office
    1-Wire Drivers for Windows 1-Wire

I tried using a list and then a vlookup and doing a True condition as opposed to a False but then items that didn't contain the data were getting the wrong info (If that makes sense)

i attached a document of what I am working with.

So whenever the strings in column A contains one the strings in column F, you want to substitute A with F, or?

Not exactly. I uploaded a better picture of what I am looking to do. I have values in A2, and they are kind of all over the place, I am looking to check the contents of A to a list (So for example in column A I would have Microsoft Office 2007, Microsoft Office Powerpoint) and then in my list in say Column F I would have (SAP, Microsoft Office, Adobe). So in maybe column C, it would return Microsoft Office for those entries. I don't want to replace anything, just create a new column for a "short name"

How strings might you end up having in column I? Only 3, or more?

No matter. Assuming the list of strings you want to search for is in column I, and you want to return the search string if it's found, or the original string if it's not, then try this:
    Formula: copy to clipboard

BTW: It's an array formula, and you MUST confirm with Ctrl+Shift+Enter, and not just Enter.
