Duplicate Pivot Tables vs. Unique Pivot Tables

I've noticed that if you copy a pivot table X number of times for different uses, if you refresh any of them, they all will refresh. This will not happen you create a new (I'm calling them "unique") pivot table, which must be refreshed individually.

Is there a way to identify which pivot tables are linked and will refresh together and which ones won't? Also, is there a way to update a pivot table to be linked with the rest so it updates with the others?

I am running some reports and I currently refresh about 15 pivot tables because I know some update when I refresh the first one, and other don't.

    Thanks for the help,

    Keith

hi Keith. in the Data tab, there is a "Refresh All". That will refresh all the pivot tables.

    Hi keith,

When you click on a Pivot Table and have clicked on the Pivot Table Tab and have the "Options" subtab selected the PivotTable group will show which table you are on. This appears on the Ribbon below the word "File" and above the Column A.

I'm attaching a sheet I did a while back that has code to make 3 Pivot Tables agree on a filter. If you change one filter the other two will also change to match what was changed. It may be too hard to follow or not apply to your exact case but it might give you some ideas on how to refresh some and not others.

    benishiryo and MarvinP,

Thank you very much for the two very good answers. The Refresh All is awesome, and I like that I can see and adjust pivot table options now. Thank you both!
