    lead zero are being dropped

    Hello,
I have two columns that have numbers that begin with a 0. One column is zip codes and the other column is ID numbers(Most beginning with 0). I can see the zero on my end but when i email it to someone the zero disappears. Is there some formula or function that can be applied to these columns to keep the zeros from dropping?

    HI pfournier80,

Format those two columns as Text and then try sending once...
Alternatively, you can prefix ' in zip codes and ID numbers to save them with starting zeros.. thanks.

In the next column dragged down

=TEXT(A2,"00000") assuming you want 5 digits. Then format your orignal cells as text and You can then copy and paste special back into the cells that you formatted as text.
