    Find average of column b based on boundaries applied to column a

    Hello!

    I would like to find average values of column B, based on boundaries applied to column A.

    I have added an example (watch out, I used colours and arrows, a deadly combination).

    It would be easier to separate out your ranges, for example put 0, 1.5 and 2 in E5:G5 as the start values and 1, 2, 2.5 in E6:G6 as the end values, and then in E7 you could have this formula:

    which can then be copied into F7 and G7.

    Note that your first two examples in the sample file are taking averages of column A rather than column B, so they are different to what the formula produces.
