    conditional formatting basing on cell above

    Hi all,

    a very simple one:

    if a cell is smaller than the cell above, i want the cell to be formated.

    Please Login or Register  to view this content.
    Formats the cell which is bigger. I want the smaller one to be highlighted.

    hi Bishonen. select the range you want to apply to (say. A1:A2)
    in Excel 2007 & above, go to Home -> Conditional Formatting -> New Rule -> Use a formula to determine which cells to format -> Format values where this formula is true:
    =A1<A2

    then format it to the colour you desire. is that what you need?
