Create List depending on data in Drop Down

Im sure this is possible but I need to do it without using a pivot table.

I have a list of people that are trained in different areas.

I need XL to auto populate the people that are trained in a certain area when i select it from a drop down box.

The list needs to appear next to it (if possible?)

    Thanks

Post an example file - your description doesn't really describe anything.

    example.xls

Based on what the drop down says I need the bit in yellow to auto populate (if that makes it easier?)

    Put this formula in B8:

    Formula: copy to clipboard

    then copy down to B22.

    Hope this helps.

Is there also a way to use the names in a drop down and it tell me what skills they have (using the same table??)

Re: Create List depending on data in Drop Down

In the attached workbook I've set up data validation in cell D8 using the list of names in column R, then put this formula in E8:

    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.

which is then copied down (only 4 cells needed as you only have 4 skills).

    Hope this helps.
