Creating a tournament bracket with auto advancing photos

    Hello all,

I have no idea which forum subsection my request for help should go in so I apologize up front.

I am wanting to create an Excel tournament bracket with some auto advancing features. I want to enter the players name and a photo of the player in each of the starting positions.

Each bracket is a button. As the winner button is selected the name and photo needs to automatically advance into the next position's button. Many years ago I saw an Excel spread sheet that did exactly that but it was password protected and I had no idea who made it.

I would appreciate any and all help or direction to where I can find what I am looking for.

    Thank,

    Gorden

Single elimination or double? how many teams we talking about?

also as you enter in score you want to update bracket or do you want button then enter winner

Thanks for the quick response! Double elimination please. As I remember the spreadsheet I saw you would enter each player's name and a photo of the player/team in each of the initial spaces. After each round you click the button of the winning player/team and that player's/team's name and photo automatically advances to the next level.

Have you ever seen anything like that?

it was really cool how it worked. Wish it wasn't password protected.

here is template for double elim i have seen
    http://dailydoseofexcel.com/archives...tion-brackets/
can use that as your base for starters

    Re: the photos advancing
would imagine something like that having quite a bit of coding behind it
was there a pop out form or was the button on the sheet itself?

did the pictures stay or did it move along with the chart?

reason i ask is...if the picture just moves along it is a position change
if the picture gets added it is a amendment to picture source

YEs, as the pictures moved along the chart along with the names as the names advanced.

OK i did one piece of the bracket

just because the coding behind it is extensive

but from this you should get the general idea

    Hello....what a great forum.

Has anyone ever done something like this, a tournament bracket, with photos, with 16 or 32 contestants??
