how to get a multi sheet workbook to always open on a specific sheet

Hi All

I may well be searching in the wrong places but i can't find anything that tells me how i can 'configure' a workbook to always open displaying a specific sheet in the workbook; is this possible and if so could someone please let me know how thanks?

I have a 22 sheet order number workbook where the first sheet is set up as a linked index which, on selection, takes the user to the order sheet for the vendor they have selected. However, the workbook always opens on the sheet the last action was completed on which is understandable and expected. However, is there a way of getting the workbook to always open on the index sheet?

Paste this into your Standard modules area.

As this is a macro you will be asked if you want to enable macros each time you open it, and it gets to be a pain.

So save it in a separate formula and the use excel options ...Security to make that a trusted folder.

Thanks very much for your prompt response. Please forgive my ignorance as I have to to plead no understanding of macros as such ......is it possible you could expand on your instructions e.g. where do I find my Standard Modules area; i have a reasonable understanding of formulas and how they work, but am not sure on saving the macro as a separate formula?
