I have two scheduling deconflictor files, a weekly, and a daily. We fill out the weekly deconflictor, and the information is automatically transferred to the daily schedule. Each daily schedule is made by simply CTRL-dragging the last daily worksheet to the right, and renaming it. It links automatically to the weekly workbook when the daily worksheet is renamed.
If the event is ADA/OFF, LEAVE, or DNIF, the person's name is transferred to the appropriate column on the daily schedule. If anything other than ADA/OFF, LEAVE, or DNIF are inputted, the daily schedule automatically transfers that word into the REASON column, and puts the person's name in the OTHER column. This functionality is working OK, although it's bloated and inefficient. I'm sure there's a simpler and more elegant solution!
There are three problems I would like to solve. First, I need to close up the spaces in the daily schedule (as mocked up on the bottom of the 15 Sep daily worksheet). Secondly, I would like to eliminate the need to use the INDIRECT function so we don't have to keep the weekly deconflictor file open. Finally, I would like to do this without pivot tables.
Thanks!
