Lightbulb How Do I Lock Only Specific Columns & Make it password protected?

    Hi Guys,

I'm outsourcing my data to someone who will be editing some of the text in one of the 8 columns. The data is very sensitive and I cant risk anything getting moved around. Is there any way I can just allow him to edit a specific column and keep the others Password protected and locked?

    Thanks!

hi Inframan, welcome to the forum. select the entire of the column you wish you allow editing. press CTRL + 1 or right-click to go to Format Cells. go to the tab "Protection". Uncheck the "Locked". press OK.*

Now, right-click the Sheet & Protect Sheet. type a password if you have to. only those you did in Step 1 will be unlocked

Thanks, if you have clicked on the * and added our rep.

    Example 1.jpgExample 3.jpg

Thanks but if you look at example 1, the only column I want to be editable is the last column, see example 3 - which settings do i apply for only that one column to be unprotected and the rest to be protected?
