3 dependent drop down lists, combined selection provides specific information

    Hi all,

I'm trying to create a database where when 3 dependent drop down list selections are combined, information is displayed.

I've tried VLOOKUP and INDEX/MATCH but to no avail.

Attached is the spreadsheet and what I am trying to accomplish. On the first sheet ("budget form") is a table named "Event Costs - room hire". I have created three drop down lists that interact based on what you select. Some rooms offer different services and so are dependent on the selection.

However, I want the final box to display the price depending on what is selected in the previous 3 lists. The amounts and a table I have created is in the "Product Database" sheet and the table is labelled, "Room Hire Control C".

    S.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

Could you just clarify the location of this "Room Hire Control C" table? The Product Database tab does not appear to have such a table, and there are two so-named on Sheet3.

I apologise - this is the correct spreadsheet.

Also - ignore sheet 3, its just contains some variant tables for experimenting with Index/Match.

    Ok, thanks.

However, just to confirm, are you aware that your current selection has no valid match, i.e. there is no Use of Full associated with Room NM (only Meeting, Reception or Dinner)?

    Hi XOR LX,

Yes I am. The room "JGH" is only used for lectures and so we charge for Full, Half, and Back room usage. The other rooms are used for receptions, dinners and meetings only.

    Hope this helps.

But then what do you wish the result of the current criteria to be (which will default to #N/A since there is no such match)? Left as an error value? Or "No Match Found", for example? Why are you starting with an example which does not exist?

    Regards
