Lost sheets after repairing excel file

    Hi there,

I recently have a problem opening an excel file and it is giving me an error "MSExcelFilename.xls::fileformat is not valid". I searched for a solution and found one but another problem arises when i am checking the file contents, I found out that there are several sheets missing on that file. Is there any way i can recover those lost sheets?

    Thank you..

No don't try it in import method.

Just right click on the file and select Open With and select the OpenOffice and LibreOffice.

But the above programs will getting listed in Open With if it is already installed in your system.

Yes, what I did is right clicked the file then selected open with and selected LibreOffice Calc, then the "Text Import" window appeared.

Find the file using Windows Explorer. Right click on it and choose Restore Previous Versions. You should be presented with a list of previous versions of the file. If you know when the problem started, choose the version that is just before that date and open it. It should open in Excel without problem. If it also doesn't open, choose an earlier version until you get one to open.

It seems that the extension of file is not in excel file format. Can you please let us know the extension of the file?
