In a worksheet, how do I convert a column of dates into a column of each date's numeric value?
Can you post an example of "Is" and "Should_be" values?
To convert a date to its DATEVALUE
Where A1 contains the original date. This formula would have to be used in a separate cell. Please Login or Register to view this content.
Hope this helps.

Eventually format as Number
Is 06/06/1971
Should be 26821
With
A1: a date....06/06/1971
If you change the format of that cell from Date to any of the numeric formats, it's Excel date serial number will display.
Alternatively, you could do this:
B1: =A1
then set the number format to one of the numeric formats (if necessary)
Does that help?
I have been successful at converting each cell from date to value individually. Since I'm dealing with approximately 2600 entries in a DOB column, I'd like to do it with one function. Format (column) as number and Copy (column)>Paste Special>Value does not give desired result.
Helped. Very much appreciated. Problem resolved. Thank you.
