    Re: Cell selection without Editing

    Hello Mido,

I think you are talking about Protection.

When you format a cell, there is a tab for Protection. By default, all cells are Locked. This means that when a worksheet is Protected, the cell can be selected, but the not changed by the user. (This is good for formulas you don't want changed etc.)

In Excel 2003, select Tools/Protection/Protect Sheet to turn the protection on. You don't have to use a password if you don't want to. If you do, make sure you remember it, because it can be permanent.

    Hope this helps.

    David

    Hi there,

You may try these simple easy 4 steps.

    1) select entire worksheet then press CTRL + 1 go to "Protection tab" untick "Locked".
    2) select the cell/s you want to enable "copy and paste" but disabled for editing cell contents.
    3) then press CTRL + 1 go to "Protection" tab tick "Locked".
    4) next go to "Review tab" click "Protect sheet" enter password.

    Now try...
